Presentation Switcher
Presentation Switcher
Imagine a classroom presentation environment in which a laptop, VCR/DVD player, projector, HDTV display and a wireless mic is being utilized. All these devices can be interconnected with each other using a multi-format switcher with a built in scaler. Meeting rooms and boardrooms also make a great environment for multi-format switchers. Having this type of unit installed in these applications saves time and creates an efficient working atmosphere.
Multi-format switchers usually will have more inputs than outputs. Depending on where each source is located, an extender on the input end may be needed. The same can be said about the output and where your display or projector is stationed. If a classroom has a projector installed up in the ceiling and your switcher is in the other side of the room, an extender is required on the output end. In our era of HDBaseT, many switchers are now compatible with category cables to use for extension.
Another feature that is available with many multi-format switchers is up and down scaling. For example, you are working with a laptop and connecting with a VGA cable to the switcher; however the only display in the presentation room is a LCD 4K capable screen. An advanced switcher has the ability to take a low resolution VGA signal and upscale it to higher resolution to link with the 4K capable LCD screen. In a similar scenario, if a Blu-Ray 4K player is connected to the same switcher and your output is sent to a low resolution projector, and advanced switcher will down scale the resolution to work with the projector. Multi-format switchers can easily be controlled with an IR remote, front panel buttons, IP or RS232.
BZB Express is partnered with Industry leading manufacturers that develop many of todays highest quality and robust multi-format switchers. To name a few are Atlona, Gefen, Kramer, Avenview, Shinybow, Purelink, TVOne and Magenta. Our knowledgeable BZB Express representatives can answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding your application.
