DVI Video Converter

DVI Video Converter
When DVI was first introduced, the intention was to develop a new industry standard for transmitting uncompressed digital video content. DVI is an acronym for Digital Video Interface and supports multiple modes including DVI-D (digital only), DVI-A (analog only) and DVI-I (digital/analog). Typically, DVI is able to support up to 1920 x 1200 at 60Hz; however there is also a dual link version to DVI that has twice the bandwidth at a higher refresh rate which translates to better resolution. Keep in mind, DVI dual link will only work with components that support DVI dual link; there aren’t many DVI dual link components available in the market. The purpose of a DVI converter is to either convert an input DVI signal or an output DVI signal to a different standard such HDMI, SDI or to an analog signal including composite, S-Video and component. There are many types of DVI converters designed to work with different signals in our ever changing AV industry. Many DVI converters also have built in up/down scaling to support different resolutions that a display can handle. These converters are common in residential and commercial applications including home theater, restaurants, sports bars, hospitals, stadiums and even schools settings. As mentioned earlier, there are many types of DVI converters and we are partnered with award winning manufacturers including Kramer, Gefen, Atlona, TVOne/Magenta, Hall Research, Shinybow and many other industry leaders. If you are still confused and need assistance with your application or choosing the right DVI converter, reach out to one of our experienced agents and give us a call.
