Audio Extenders

Audio Extenders
The purpose of audio extenders is to extend balanced or unbalanced analog/digital audio signals long distances. Common environments for audio extenders include residential AV systems, boardrooms, home theater, training facilities, rental and staging events. There are a few audio cables in the market that is used daily including 3.5mm mono and stereo cables, SPDIF cables for digital, TOSLINK cables, RCA and even subwoofer cables. The distance a cable can run is dependent on the type of cable you are using. For example, a high performing bass managing subwoofer cable may only go as far as 25ft to maintain great quality versus RCA cables that can maintain decent quality at 150ft. In many cases, we want ‘’great quality’’ sound and we may need it to travel more than 150ft. When searching for the right audio extender, keep in mind what components you are using it with and most importantly the cable you are using. Extenders come in different shapes, sizes and connectors; once you know the audio connector you are working with then everything else is simplified. Many of the audio extenders today utilize one CAT5/6/7 cable allowing you to transmit an audio signal anywhere in the realm of 300ft – 1000ft. The products in this category are specifically audio extenders. If you are searching to extend a video signal with audio then they are available in a corresponding category. We carry audio extenders from industry giants including Kramer, Gefen, Hall Research, TV One, Shinybow and many more.
