Description
The Back PRO Modular Mix Routing System is a modular in-ear monitor mixing and routing solution designed to assign any PRO Mixer knob to mono channels stereo pairs or submixes. It provides flexible input expansion up to 128 channels by adding Input Cards and Hubs and supports digital overlays and remote web control. The system is built for live performance and broadcast environments that require precise mix control and fast recall.
Key features include PRO Digital Overlay compatibility PRO Connect web application support and the ability to host 32-channel digital input cards such as Dante Waves or MADI. Each Mixer offers 16 assignable knobs with submix capability up to 16 stereo channels per knob and stereo linking for up to 64 pairs. The system supports simultaneous dual input sources under firmware V5 and V6 enabling A/B source workflows.
Technical performance covers user-configurable sampling rates from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz and support for up to 192 kHz operation across the system. Mixer headphone outputs deliver defined power across a range of load impedances and mixer line output specifications include 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and low THD. Propagation delay figures are documented for analog and digital paths to ensure predictable latency in multi-node deployments.
Connectivity includes HBUS audio-over-Ethernet RJ45 connections hub USB 2.0 for firmware updates and DB25 DA-88 analog DB25 inputs per card. The Hub supports up to four card slots per frame and each network card handles up to eight Mixer connections. Mixer I/O includes TRS 1/4″ and 1/8″ headphone jacks TRS balanced line outputs and selectable XLR or 1/8″ AUX inputs with phantom power on the XLR.
Typical use cases include multi-artist stage monitor systems broadcast foldback and rental inventory requiring fast preset recall and remote administration. The Write-and-recall preset system plus mirroring and copy-paste between Mixers simplifies setup for touring rigs and multi-stage events. Built-in intercom and independent AUX broadcast to in-ear mixes improve onstage communication and click distribution.
Installation is straightforward with standard mic-stand or desk mounting for Mixers and 1RU rack mounting for the Hub. The system supports PoE Mixer powering from the Hub and optional redundant external supplies to maintain uptime. Firmware updates are performed via the Hub USB port making feature rollouts simple to manage onsite.
