The CP-AOCU32/AC-25 is a hybrid optical/copper USB 3.2 Gen 2 cable engineered for high-speed data transfer. It connects a USB-A host to a USB-C device and supports sustained throughput up to 10Gbps. This cable is intended for data transmission and is not designed for charging or Alternate Mode signaling.
The cable provides plug-and-play operation with no additional drivers required and draws power from the USB source device when needed. Its hybrid construction combines fiber for high-bandwidth data with copper conductors for signaling and power. Remote devices are expected to be self-powered to ensure reliable operation.
Technically the cable is built around a 2 channel OM2 850 nm VCSEL fiber array and bare copper conductors to deliver USB 3.2 Gen 2 SuperSpeed Plus performance. The cable supports a maximum data rate of 10Gbps and is backward compatible with USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 standards. Electrical consumption is low at <=0.5W.
Connectivity is provided by a USB 3.2 Type-A male connector on one end and a USB 3.2 Type-C male connector on the other end. The cable maintains compatibility across a wide range of USB cameras, printers, webcams and speaker phones, while noting that charging and ALT Mode functions are not supported. USB 1.1 compatibility is indicated for runs up to 50ft.
Typical use cases include linking desk cameras, conference room audio devices and USB peripherals in AV systems where high-speed data transfer is required over a 25ft span. The hybrid optical/copper design reduces signal degradation over length while preserving USB protocol integrity. The cable is appropriate for installations where data bandwidth is the priority and external device power is available.
Installation is simple: plug-and-play connectors and a flexible 4.8mm jacket simplify routing and deployment. The cable is built to withstand mechanical stress with defined tensile and crush resistance ratings and a minimum bending radius of 20mm.
