The CA-HM-82 is an active high-speed HDMI cable designed to deliver HDMI video and audio signals over long distances without external power. It supports extended bandwidth operation and includes Kramer K-Lock connectors for reliable retention. An integrated LED indicates when the signal is active.
This cable supports 4K@60Hz performance across different color subsampling depending on length and offers data rates up to 18Gbps at shorter lengths and 10.2Gbps at 82ft. The cable provides HDCP 2.2 and HDR compatibility along with EDID, ARC and CEC handling. Triple shielding and 24K gold-plated connectors reduce signal loss and interference.
Performance is distance-dependent: up to 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 at 15-66ft, 4K@60Hz 4:2:0 at 82ft, and 1080p@60Hz at longer runs. The active electronics in the connector include equalization and signal compensation and draw power from the HDMI source so no separate power supply is required. The connector also offers a micro USB optional external power input on the display end for challenging sources.
Physical construction uses 24AWG/26AWG/28AWG/32AWG conductors depending on length, PVC jacket, and a multi-layer aluminum/mylar plus braid overall shield. The cable is UL listed CL3/FT4 for in-wall installs and rated to 80 degrees C. Connector pull resistance is rated to 15 lbs to prevent accidental disconnection in installed systems.
Compatibility includes modern HDMI features such as HDR, deep color, x.v.Color, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD surround sound formats. The cable supports ARC and CEC control channels so audio return and device control are preserved over long runs. The K-Lock connector design reduces service calls by preventing unintended disconnects in pro AV environments.
Installation is straightforward: the CA-HM-82 is true plug-and-play and draws operating power from the HDMI source in most configurations. Durable construction, an LED signal indicator, and CL3/FT4 listing make the cable suitable for concealed installations and professional AV deployments.
