The CA-HM-50 is an active high speed HDMI cable designed to carry HDMI video and audio signals over extended copper runs. It supports up to 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 video and high-bandwidth audio formats, enabling professional AV installations that require long cable runs without external power. The cable draws power from the HDMI source for plug-and-play operation.
Key features include an 18Gbps capable data path for shorter runs, HDCP 2.2 and HDR support, and Kramer K-Lock connectors that provide pull resistance and a visual LED status indicator. The cable is triple-shielded to reduce EMI and uses 24K gold-plated connectors for reliable contact. It is UL listed and CL3/FT4 rated for in-wall installation where permitted.
Performance varies by length – the active electronics equalize and compensate to support 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 up to 20m and maintain lower-resolution support at greater distances. The CA-HM family uses different conductor gauges across lengths to optimize signal integrity. Conductor resistance, power consumption, temperature rating, and voltage ratings are specified to ensure predictable system behavior.
Connectivity is straightforward – male Type A HDMI on both ends with an optional micro-USB power input on the display end for challenging source environments. The cable supports EDID, ARC and CEC control channels, and passes Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio formats. K-Lock connectors provide 15 lbs of restraining force to prevent accidental disconnects.
This cable is suited to conference rooms, classrooms, digital signage runs, and boardroom AV where a clean single-cable connection is required over extended distance. It is also appropriate for installations requiring in-wall rated cables and persistent mechanical retention.
