The AT-USB-EX350-WPD-KIT is a point-to-point USB 3.2 Gen1 extender kit designed to extend high data rate USB up to 330ft (100 meters) over a single Category 6A U/FTP cable. This kit carries USB 3.2 Gen1 data rates up to 5 Gbps and supports USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps. It enables placement of USB hosts and peripherals at extended distances while preserving high throughput and device functionality.
The system supports a USB-C host endpoint and a two-gang device wall plate that provides three USB-A ports and one locking USB-C port for peripherals. Each device port supplies up to 1.5A with a total of 3.2A across all device ports, and VBUS for each port is individually configurable. The kit includes LAN-based monitoring and control, firmware updates, and IP-to-RS-232 translation for remote device management.
Performance is specified for USB 3.2 Gen1 at 5 Gbps and USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps and distances are dependent on cabling type: up to 330ft (100 m) over Cat6a U/FTP straight runs. Power is provided via the included 48 VDC / 1.36 A external power supply and the kit supports bidirectional remote power so either endpoint may supply system power. Operating temperature and humidity ranges and certifications meet common commercial AV installation requirements.
Connectivity includes a locking USB-C host connector, an HDBT-USB3 RJ45 link, and an RJ45 LAN port on the host endpoint for configuration and monitoring. The device wall plate offers three USB-A ports, one locking USB-C port for peripherals, a debug USB-C, and a captive-screw RS-232 port for external control connections. The LAN interface supports HTTP/HTTPS/Telnet/SSH and JSON over WebSockets for integration with control systems.
Typical applications include video conferencing, classroom AV, and meeting spaces where high data rate USB peripherals such as 4K cameras, conferencing bars, and speaker arrays need to be located away from the host computer. The wall plate device endpoint fits standard two-gang boxes and ships with interchangeable white and black trim kits to match room aesthetics. The compact enclosures also allow mounting in furniture, behind displays, or above projectors.
Installation is straightforward using a single Cat6a U/FTP cable for data and structured cabling best practices for distance and reliability. The built-in web server and API enable VBUS configuration, firmware updates, and monitoring for troubleshooting and verification. The kit’s rugged connectors, locking USB-C ports, and certificated power supply simplify long-term deployments and system maintenance.
