The VE8950R is a 4K HDMI over IP receiver that delivers visually lossless AV distribution across a standard Gigabit LAN. It accepts compressed 4K signals and presents them at the display with ultra-low latency and accurate color reproduction. The unit is designed for scalable multi-display deployments and straightforward installation.
This receiver uses ATEN lightweight compression technology to deliver 4K@30Hz 4:4:4 video while maintaining low latency and reduced network bandwidth consumption. The built-in EDID handling ensures optimal resolution selection across varied displays and the scaler supports mixing 4K panels and 1080p screens. Daisy chaining and LAN distribution allow flexible topologies including point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and multipoint-to-multipoint.
Performance metrics include an average data rate range of 150 ~ 500 Mbps and support for 4K transmission up to 100 m over Cat5e/6 in point-to-point setups. The VE8950R supports 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz 4:4:4 color sampling. Power consumption is low at DC 5V, 4.6W which reduces operating costs in large deployments.
Connectivity includes 1 HDMI Type A output and a mini stereo audio jack for analog audio extraction. Control interfaces comprise IR, RS-232 via 3-pin terminal block and two USB Type A ports for peripheral support. A locking DC jack and metal housing provide secure power connection and durable mounting options.
The VE8950R is suited for digital signage, conference centers, airports, campuses and trade shows where multi-screen 4K distribution is required. It supports video wall, splitter, matrix and daisy chain configurations to scale displays without adding servers or complex IP setup. The receiver fits environments that require consistent visual quality across multiple displays and long-distance LAN distribution.
Installation is straightforward with simple ID selection pushbuttons and network-based configuration using standard Gigabit switches.
