The ATEN VE816R is an HDBaseT 4K HDMI receiver and scaler designed to extend HDMI signals, control channels, and video scaling over a single category cable. It receives HDBaseT streams up to long distances and provides FrameSync and scaling to match varied display resolutions. This product is intended for professional AV environments that require long-reach HDMI distribution with signal management.
The VE816R supports HDCP 2.2 and delivers 4K video transport and scaling capabilities. It provides bi-directional RS-232 and IR pass-through for remote control and includes HDBaseT anti-jamming and cable quality testing features. Additional capabilities include Long Reach Mode for extended distances and Seamless Switch and Video Wall support when used with compatible ATEN HDBaseT matrix systems.
On the performance side the unit supports a maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps and a pixel clock up to 340 MHz. Video resolutions include 4K formats up to specified distances and 1080p over longer runs. The integrated scaler and FrameSync help prevent black screens and image tearing by matching output timing to incoming signals.
Connectivity includes an HDMI Type A output, an RJ-45 HDBaseT port, a mini stereo IR jack and a 3-pole terminal block for RS-232. Power is supplied via a DC jack and the unit is rack-mountable with a metal housing for installed systems. It is compatible with ATEN HDBaseT matrices and HDBaseT-Lite matrices for advanced features such as video wall profiles and Seamless Switch.
Typical applications include digital signage, conference rooms, lecture halls and multi-screen displays where long-distance HDMI transmission and centralized control are required. The VE816R is suitable for installations that need reliable signal extension and resolution management across multiple displays.
