The TR-82N-FE is a two-channel Narrow Band UHF beltpack designed to pair with the BTR-80N receiver – it provides reliable wireless intercom for live production and broadcast teams. This compact user station offers dual-listen capability so operators can hear separate channels in each ear. The unit is built to operate in rigorous environments and supports standard AA battery power for flexible field use.
Key user controls include an On/Off and volume control, a dedicated talk button and a visible talk light – these controls give fast tactile access during live events. The beltpack includes a receiver RF meter and a Low Battery/Overmodulation (BAT/OM) indicator to help maintain signal integrity and prevent audio clipping. Additional features such as Stage Announce (SA) and Wireless Talk Around (WTA) expand operational flexibility on complex multisystem stages.
Technically the TR-82N-FE is a frequency-agile UHF device operating in the FE band and offering two independent channels for simultaneous monitoring. It uses an LCD graphical user interface to present status information and supports enhanced ClearScan to simplify channel selection. Power is provided by six AA cells, with NiMH batteries supported as an optional replacement for alkaline cells, and it is rated to operate between -20°C and 55°C.
Connectivity includes detachable antennas for improved RF handling and an auto-sensing headset connector that switches automatically between electret and dynamic headset microphones. The beltpack provides binaural operation so users can listen to Tech in one ear and Production in the other with individual volume controls for each side. It is intended for seamless compatibility with RTS BTR-80N base stations and integrates into existing RTS intercom workflows.
