The TR-80N is a frequency-agile UHF narrow-band two-channel wireless beltpack designed for professional intercom systems. It pairs with the BTR-80N base station to deliver reliable wireless communication across FD band channels. The unit is built for stage and broadcast environments where clear, consistent audio is required.
Key features include an all-metal cast magnesium housing, an LCD graphical user interface, and a receiver RF meter for real-time signal monitoring. The beltpack supports stage announce and wireless talk-around (ISO) activation to adapt to different crew workflows. It also includes enhanced ClearScan and detachable antennas to optimize reception.
Audio controls include an audio channel select button, talk button, and talk light to indicate transmit status. The headset connector is auto-sensing and automatically switches between electret and dynamic headset microphones. Low battery and overmodulation indication are provided by a BAT/OM light for operational awareness.
Power is provided by six AA cells with support for alkaline batteries and optional NiMH rechargeables. The TR-80N operates across an extended temperature range from -20°C to 55°C to suit demanding production conditions. The beltpack form factor and user station function make it suitable for wearable, on-stage use.
Connectivity integrates standard detachable antennas and a 4M headset interface, enabling common production headset wiring and quick headset swaps. The unit is compatible with the RTS BTR-80N base station to form part of a networked wireless intercom system. Its auto-sensing mic input simplifies headset compatibility without manual switching.
