The RTS TR-800 TR-800-HER5 is a two-channel UHF wireless beltpack designed to deliver reliable intercom audio and flexible headset connectivity. It provides individual channel selection and level control, enabling clear communication in production and live-event environments. The unit is built around a synthesized UHF radio architecture to maintain stable links across allocated frequency bands.
Key features include individual volume controls, an LCD graphical user interface, detachable antennas, and an auto-sensing headset connector that switches between electret and dynamic microphone types. The beltpack supports Wireless Talk Around (WTA) and Stage Announce (SA) functions to facilitate local routing and onstage announcements. Enhanced ClearScan helps simplify frequency selection and reduce RF interference during setup.
Performance specifications include an RF frequency range covering 470-608 MHz and 614-740 MHz in 18 MHz TX/RX bands, frequency response from 300 Hz to 8 kHz, and RF sensitivity below 0.7 for 12 dB SINAD. The radio uses dual conversion superheterodyne synthesis with FM modulation and offers 712 channels. Distortion is specified at less than 1 at full deviation and RF frequency stability is 0.005.
Connectivity is provided via screw-type replaceable 1/4 wave antennas for transmit and receive, and a local headset output rated at 40 mW into 600W with 1% distortion. The headset connector is auto-sensing for electret and dynamic mics, and user controls include on/off and volume, talk button, talk light, audio channel select, and BAT/OM indicator. Power is supplied by six AA alkaline cells with NiMH as an optional alternative.
Typical use cases include live production comms, theater and stage communications, broadcast intercom linking, and event stage management where mobility and multi-channel monitoring are required. The TR-800 supports Wireless Talk Around for isolated communication and Stage Announce for crew coordination during performances.
