The RTS TR-800 TR-800-FER5 is a compact UHF two-channel wireless beltpack engineered for professional intercom environments. It provides two independent audio channels and individual volume controls to manage level balance on stage or in broadcast workflows. The beltpack pairs with the BTR-800 base to deliver reliable wireless intercom communication across FE band frequencies.
Key features include an all-metal cast magnesium housing, an LCD graphical user interface for clear status and channel information, detachable screw-type antennas, and an auto-sensing headset connector that supports electret and dynamic microphones automatically. The unit supports Wireless Talk Around and Stage Announce functions plus an audio channel select button and talk light indicators for simple operation. Enhanced ClearScan helps find clean frequencies within supported bands.
Technically the beltpack operates across RF frequency ranges 470 – 608 MHz and 614 – 740 MHz in 18 MHz TX and RX bands, using dual-conversion superheterodyne synthesized FM with up to 712 channels. Frequency response covers 300 Hz to 8 kHz and RF sensitivity is specified at less than 0.7 for 12 dB SINAD. RF frequency stability is 0.005 and image rejection is 70 or better, providing consistent audio performance in demanding RF environments.
Connectivity includes replaceable 1/4 wave screw-type antennas for transmit and receive and a headset output rated at 40 mW into 600 ohms. The beltpack runs on six AA alkaline cells with optional NiMH, and current draw is specified at 140 mA during push-to-talk or talk-on operation. LED indicators include battery/overmod and talk light indicators to assist monitoring and fault detection in the field.
This beltpack is suited to live event production, broadcast intercom systems, and theatrical communications where mobility and reliable audio routing are required. Typical use cases include stage management, broadcast crews, production teams, and touring applications where clear intercom audio and rugged construction are necessary.
