The RTS TR-800 is a two-channel UHF wireless beltpack designed for professional intercom systems and on-site crew communications. It pairs with the BTR-800 base station and provides reliable voice connectivity across FE band frequency ranges. The unit combines rugged construction and a clear LCD graphical user interface to simplify operation.
The beltpack supports independent audio channel selection and individual volume controls for fine audio level adjustment. It features Wireless Talk Around (WTA) and Stage Announce (SA) functions that enable local and stage-side announcement workflows. Additional user controls include a talk button, talk light, and Bat/Overmod indicator to manage operation status.
Technically, the TR-800 operates across UHF ranges 470-608 MHz and 614-740 MHz organized in 18 MHz transmit and receive bands and offers a synthesized dual conversion super-heterodyne FM receiver with up to 712 channels. Frequency response is 300 Hz to 8 kHz and RF sensitivity is listed at under 0.7 for 12 dB SINAD. RF frequency stability is 0.005 and image rejection is 70 or better, ensuring stable RF performance in dense RF environments.
Connectivity includes screw-type replaceable 1/4 wave antennas for both TX and RX and an auto-sensing headset connector that switches between electret and dynamic headset microphones. The local headset output is specified at 40 mW into 600W and the microphone input sensitivity is noted as 7. The beltpack draws 140 at Push-to-Talk or Talk On modes and accepts six AA cells alkaline with NiMH optional.
Common deployments include production stages, broadcast control rooms, live event backstage communications, and location shoots where two-channel wireless intercom is required. The TR-800 supports multi-user intercom workflows and stage announce features for coordinated production cues.
