The RTS TR-800 is a two-channel UHF wireless beltpack designed to operate with BTR-800 base stations – it provides clear wireless intercom communications for production and broadcast environments. The unit is built around an LCD graphical user interface that simplifies channel selection and status monitoring. Its compact beltpack form factor keeps controls accessible while on the move.
Key features include individual volume controls, an auto-sensing headset connector that switches between electret and dynamic headset microphones, and user controls for Wireless Talk Around (WTA) and Stage Announce (SA). There is an audio channel select button and dedicated talk and talk light indicators to manage communication flow. The beltpack also offers a Bat/Overmod indicator to help monitor battery and audio levels.
Technical performance includes a frequency response of 300 Hz to 8 kHz and low distortion under full deviation. The receiver uses dual conversion superheterodyne synthesis with FM and supports up to 712 channels. RF sensitivity and stability specifications ensure reliable reception in the allocated UHF bands while enhanced ClearScan improves frequency coordination.
Connectivity is provided by a standard A4F headset jack and screw-type replaceable 1/4 wave antennas for transmit and receive. Power is supplied by six AA cells with NiMH support as an option and the unit reports current draw during push-to-talk operation. The beltpack also supports detachable antennas and an all-metal cast magnesium case for rugged field use.
