The TP-874XR is a compact DGKat 2.0 HDMI receiver designed to convert long‑reach twisted pair signals back to HDMI. It extends HDMI video, multi-channel audio and control signals over a single shielded twisted pair cable. The unit supports power over cable for two-way powering between transmitter and receiver.
The receiver supports HDR and HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 compliance and delivers visually lossless video using low-level compression technology. It carries up to 32 channels of uncompressed digital audio and supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD formats. EDID pass-through ensures straightforward source and display negotiation.
Performance is optimized for 4K signals with support for 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 and 4K@30Hz 4:4:4 24bpp operation depending on cable length and conditions. The device provides up to 50m (160ft) extension at 4K@60Hz and up to 70m (230ft) at 4K@30Hz over Kramer shielded DGKat cable. The receiver operates with near-zero latency to preserve real-time video and control responsiveness.
Connectivity includes a DGKat 2.0 twisted pair input and HDMI output along with bidirectional RS-232 and IR ports for device control. The PoC capability allows a single twisted pair to carry signal and power, simplifying wiring and deployments. Status LEDs for HDMI and DGKat ports assist local troubleshooting and maintenance.
Typical applications include long-distance AV extension in meeting rooms, boardrooms, hotels and corporate facilities where centralized sources feed remote displays. The compact DigiTOOLS fan-less enclosure is suitable for device-back mounting and can be mounted side-by-side to fit three units in a single 1U rack space with Kramer rack adapter. The receiver supports studio-grade surround sound and common HDMI video formats including 2K, 4K and 3D.
Installation is straightforward using a single shielded twisted pair cable for signal and power and standard control wiring for RS-232 and IR. The fan-less design reduces audible noise and improves reliability in enclosed AV racks. The TP-874XR provides a practical balance of distance, control extension and HDMI feature support for professional AV systems.
