The TP-873XR is a compact DGKat 2.0 HDMI transmitter designed to extend high-resolution HDMI video and control signals over long-reach twisted pair cabling. It accepts HDMI 2.0 input and converts it to DGKat 2.0 for transmission to a compatible receiver. The device supports HDR content and modern copy protection standards to maintain source compatibility.
The unit delivers visually lossless video using low-level compression technology and supports 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 resolution where cable distance permits. It extends HDMI, multi-channel audio, bidirectional RS-232 and bidirectional IR while also supporting two-way power over cable (PoC). Status LEDs on the unit simplify local troubleshooting and help identify HDMI and DGKat link status quickly.
On the technical side, TP-873XR is HDR capable and HDMI 2.0 / HDCP 2.2 compliant to handle deep color, x.v.Color and advanced audio formats. It supports up to 32 channels of uncompressed digital audio and advanced formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. The extender supports 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 at shorter distances and 4K@30Hz 4:4:4 24bpp at longer distances over shielded Kramer twisted-pair cable.
Connectivity includes a single HDMI input, DGKat 2.0 twisted-pair output, bidirectional RS-232 and IR ports, and PoC capability for powering the remote unit. The EDID pass-through algorithm simplifies interoperability between source and display devices by negotiating compatible video modes automatically. The device is compatible with standard HDMI sources and displays that support HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2.
TP-873XR is well suited for meeting rooms, boardrooms, corporate AV installations and hotel AV systems where long-reach HDMI and control signals are required. It enables centralized connectivity from a source to distant displays while retaining control via RS-232 and IR. The unit is optimized for installations that need near-zero latency video delivery and professional audio channel support.
Installation is straightforward using a single shielded twisted-pair cable for both signal and power distribution – reducing cabling complexity. The compact DigiTOOLS fan-less enclosure allows device-back mounting or side-by-side rack mounting using an optional Kramer rack adapter. Built for reliable operation, the unit offers easy maintenance and LED indicators to speed onsite diagnostics.
