The TP-780TXR is an HDBaseT transmitter engineered to extend HDMI video, Ethernet, RS-232 and IR control signals over a single twisted-pair cable. It supports 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) and 2Kx4K resolutions and provides Power over Ethernet (PoE) to a compatible receiver. The unit is designed for AV installers and integrators who need long-distance HDMI distribution while retaining control and network connectivity.
Key features include HDBaseT transmission, Ethernet passthrough, bidirectional RS-232 and IR control, EDID pass-through and support for HDMI audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. The transmitter supports Deep Color, x.v.Color, lip sync and 3D pass-through. Status LEDs indicate input, output, link and power for straightforward diagnostics.
Performance is suitable for modern UHD video workflows with a maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps (3.4 Gbps per graphic channel). The system range varies by resolution and cable quality – up to 130 m (430 ft) for 2K, up to 100 m for 4K, and up to 180 m (590 ft) in ultra mode for 1080p when using recommended BC-HDKat6a cable. RS-232 operates at up to 115200 baud for reliable control communication.
Connectivity includes one HDMI input, one RJ-45 HDBaseT output, one 3.5 mm IR jack and one 9-pin D-sub RS-232 port. The TP-780TXR is HDMI and HDCP compliant for broad compatibility with consumer and professional sources and displays. PoE supplies power to the remote TP-780RXR receiver so a local power supply at the receiver location may not be required.
The TP-780TXR is well suited to conference rooms, lecture halls, digital signage and distributed AV systems where long cable runs and centralized control are required. It integrates into systems that require remote control of displays or source devices via RS-232 or IR and supports common HDMI audio formats for A/V playback. The compact form factor and rack-mount options make it adaptable to rack- and surface-mounted installations.
Installation is straightforward with standard HDMI and RJ-45 cabling and a single 48 V DC power input for the transmitter unit. The product ships with a 48 V/1.36 A power supply and a bracket installation kit. Robust LEDs and industry-standard connectors simplify commissioning and ongoing maintenance for integrators and service technicians.
