Description
The TP-780T is an HDBaseT transmitter designed to extend HDMI video and control signals over a single twisted-pair cable. It converts HDMI video, bidirectional RS-232 data and IR commands into an HDBaseT signal for transmission to a compatible receiver. The transmitter supports PoE so it can provide power to the remote receiver when used with compatible devices.
The unit supports up to 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) resolution and a maximum data rate of 10.2Gbps (3.4Gbps per graphic channel). It passes EDID and supports HDCP, Deep Color, x.v.Color, lip sync, multi-channel uncompressed audio, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. The TP-780T also supports 3D pass-through and CEC for broader display compatibility.
Performance-wise the TP-780T is rated for a system range up to 70m (230ft) at 2K and up to 40m (130ft) at 4K UHD resolutions when used with high quality CAT6a cable. Bandwidth and range depend on source and display capabilities as well as cable quality. The device provides status LEDs for input, output, link and power to aid in deployment and troubleshooting.
Connectivity includes one HDMI input, one RJ-45 HDBaseT output, a 3.5mm IR jack and a 9-pin D-sub RS-232 port for bidirectional control. The transmitter supports common HDMI audio formats and passes EDID between source and sink to maintain correct video and audio settings. PoE simplifies installation by reducing the need for a local power supply at the receiver end when compatible equipment is used.
The TP-780T is suitable for professional AV installations such as boardrooms, lecture halls, digital signage and retail displays where long-distance HDMI and control extension is required. It supports integration with control systems via RS-232 and IR to enable remote control and status queries. System designers can rely on its HDBaseT compatibility and PoE capability to simplify cabling and power management.
Installation is straightforward with standard HDMI and RJ-45 terminations and simple control connections for IR and RS-232. The unit accepts a 48V DC power supply and includes power management to feed compatible receivers via HDBaseT.
