Description
The TP-590TXR is an HDBaseT 2.0 transmitter that converts HDMI, USB2.0, analog audio, RS-232 and IR signals into a single twisted-pair stream for long-distance distribution. It is designed to extend AV and control signals over a single CATx cable while preserving HDMI features and USB connectivity. The unit supports HDCP and common HDMI audio formats for reliable source-to-display transmission.
Key capabilities include support for HDMI deep color, x.v.Color, lip sync, uncompressed HDMI audio channels, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. The TP-590TXR supports USB1.1 and USB2.0 up to 127Mbps and is compatible with isochronous USB cameras. It provides bidirectional RS-232 and IR for control and remote device management.
Performance specifications include a maximum data rate of 10.2Gbps (3.4Gbps per graphic channel) in normal mode and an ultra mode optimized for 1080p operation. System range varies by resolution – up to 130m (430ft) at 2K, up to 100m at 4K, and up to 180m (590ft) in ultra mode when using BC-HDKat6a cable. The transmitter also supports EDID pass-through to maintain display compatibility.
Connectivity options include a single HDMI input, a 3.5mm analog stereo input, a USB2.0 port for peripheral pass-through, an HDBT RJ-45 output, IR I/O on a 3.5mm jack and dual RS-232 terminal-block interfaces. Ethernet on an RJ-45 connector is provided for transmitter control. The unit delivers embedded HDMI audio as well as unbalanced stereo audio transmission.
The TP-590TXR is suitable for boardrooms, lecture halls, digital signage and control-room environments where HDMI and USB signals must be extended with control. It supports common AV workflows such as camera USB extension, remote control of source or sink devices, and centralized AV distribution via HDBaseT. The PoE capability allows the transmitter to power a compatible receiver over the TP cable when required.
Installation is straightforward with a compact MegaTOOLS form factor that allows two units to be rack mounted side-by-side in 1U using the optional RK-T2B bracket. LED indicators provide clear status for input, output, HDBT link and power. The unit operates at 12V DC and is specified for 0 to 40 C operating temperature with robust build quality for professional AV deployments.
