The TP-580RXR is an HDBaseT HDMI receiver designed to extend HDMI, bidirectional RS-232 and IR control signals over a single twisted-pair cable. It restores the HDBaseT stream sent from a compatible transmitter back to HDMI and control outputs at the display end. The unit supports modern HDMI features and broad compatibility for professional AV deployments.
Key features include support for up to 10.2Gbps video bandwidth, HDCP compliance, HDBaseT technology and 3D pass-through. The receiver supports HDMI features such as Deep Color, x.v.Color, Lip Sync, uncompressed audio channels, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD and CEC. It also passes EDID between source and display to preserve video modes and audio formats.
Performance specifications include support for 2K and 4K content and a maximum data rate of 10.2Gbps (3.4Gbps per graphic channel). System range is up to 130m (430ft) in normal mode and up to 180m (590ft) Ultra mode at 1080p@60Hz@24bpp using Kramer BC-DGKat623 cable. The unit consumes 12V DC at 500mA and operates between 0° and 40°C.
Connectivity options include a single HDBaseT RJ-45 input, one HDMI output, one IR port on a 3.5mm mini jack and one RS-232 9-pin D-sub connector. Status LEDs indicate input, output, link and power conditions for simple troubleshooting. Recommended cables for optimal performance are Kramer’s BC-DGKat524, BC-DGKat623 and BC-DGKat7a23 series.
The TP-580RXR is appropriate for applications such as digital signage, corporate AV installations and classroom or lecture hall displays. It supports bidirectional RS-232 and IR for remote control and status queries, which simplifies integrated system control. The compact DigiTOOLS form factor allows three units to be mounted side-by-side in a single 1U rack space using the optional RK-3T adapter.
