The TP-580RD is a compact HDBaseT receiver designed to extend DVI/HDMI video and control signals over twisted pair cabling. It delivers single-link DVI/HDMI video at up to 4K60 (4:2:0) 24bpp and supports HDCP 2.2 compliance. The unit receives AV, RS-232 and IR signals sent from a compatible transmitter and restores them at the display end.
Key features include HDMI 2.0 support, I-EDIDPro intelligent EDID handling, and multi-channel audio extension for up to 32 uncompressed channels. The receiver provides bidirectional RS-232 and IR for control and remote operation. Status LEDs and local firmware upgrade via RS-232 simplify maintenance and diagnostics.
Performance specifications include a maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps and native support for 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) at 24bpp. Over standard CAT copper HDBaseT cabling the unit extends 4K60 to 40m (130ft) and extends 1080p@60Hz to up to 70m (230ft) when used with recommended cables. The receiver is HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 compliant to preserve content security and format compatibility.
Connectivity includes one HDBaseT RJ-45 input, one female DVI-I/HDMI output, a 3.5mm mini jack for IR link, and a 9-pin D-sub for RS-232. The RS-232 link supports baud rates from 300 to 115200 for extended control and a dedicated 115200 baud control channel for device management. EDID is passed through to ensure source and display interoperability.
Typical applications include meeting rooms, lecture halls, digital signage and boardrooms where long-reach HDMI extension and centralized control are required. The TP-580RD is suitable for installations that require secure cable locking and consistent EDID behavior across varied source and display combinations. It supports studio-grade audio distribution and remote control for integrated AV systems.
The unit ships in a DigiTOOLS fan-less aluminium enclosure that supports dropped-ceiling mounting or 1U rack installation with the optional RK-3T adapter. Power is supplied by a 12V DC, 2A adapter and the device consumes approximately 275mA at 12V.
