The TP-580RA is an HDBaseT receiver designed to deliver HDMI video, control and extracted stereo audio over a single twisted-pair copper cable. It receives 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) HDMI signals and provides HDMI output alongside de-embedded digital and analog stereo audio. The unit supports bidirectional control interfaces to extend system reach and centralize AV distribution.
Key features include HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 1.4 compliance, I-EDIDPro intelligent EDID handling, and support for multi-channel uncompressed audio formats. The receiver de-embeds transmitted digital audio or ARC audio into S/PDIF and balanced analog outputs for local speaker systems. Bidirectional RS-232 and IR extension enable control of remote devices located at either end of the link.
Performance supports a maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps and up to 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) 24bpp resolution at distances up to 40m (130ft) over CAT copper when used with recommended HDBaseT cables. Full HD 1080p video can be extended to greater distances up to 70m (230ft). Analog audio performance is rated to 1 Vrms with THD+N of 0.03% at 1 kHz.
Connectivity includes a single HDBT input on an RJ-45 connector, HDMI output, S/PDIF coaxial output, and a 3.5mm unbalanced stereo analog output. Control ports include a 3.5mm IR jack for IR link extension and a 3-pin terminal block for RS-232 serial extension and firmware updates. The receiver passes EDID and CEC signals to maintain source/display compatibility.
The TP-580RA fits DigiTOOLS compact enclosures and supports convection cooling for quiet operation. It is powered by a 12V DC supply and consumes approximately 570mA. Status LEDs for HDMI and HDBT ports assist local troubleshooting and maintenance, while local firmware upgrades are supported via RS-232 and the Kramer K-Upload tool.
Installation is straightforward with options for dropped-ceiling placement or side-by-side 3-up mounting in 1U using the RK-3T rack adapter. The receiver is engineered for professional AV environments where long-reach HDMI, control extension and local audio extraction are required. Its combination of video fidelity, audio de-embedding and control passthrough delivers practical value in meeting rooms, classrooms and digital signage installations.
