The RC-208 is an 8-button in-wall control keypad designed to provide a compact user interface for room systems. It fits standard US, EU and UK 1-gang wall boxes and presents a clean, decorative appearance. The keypad is intended to provide tactile, backlit controls for end users to operate AV and room devices.
The keypad features eight RGB-color backlit buttons with tactile feedback and removable labeled caps for custom identification. It supports K-NET daisy-chaining to link multiple keypads over a single cable carrying power and communication. The unit is supported by Kramer control platforms and can be configured using Kramer K-Config software.
RC-208 provides multiple built-in I/O options including Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485, IR ports, relays and a GPI/O interface. Power is supplied by a 12V DC 2A adapter and typical consumption is 780mA at 12V DC. Environmental ratings include 0 to 40C operating temperature and non-condensing humidity from 10% to 90%.
Connectivity is comprehensive – an RJ-45 Ethernet port is available for configuration and control plus two RS-232 ports and one RS-485 port for serial device control. The keypad includes two IR outputs and one IR sensor for learning, two relay outputs and one GPI/O terminal for integration with room devices. A K-NET 4-pin terminal allows linking additional keypads and transmitting power and data over a single cable.
Typical applications include classrooms, meeting rooms, boardrooms and auditoriums where a compact wall-mounted control interface is required. The RGB backlit keys and removable caps allow simple labeling for guest or end-user operation. Multiple RC-208 units can be combined to provide consistent control panels across larger facilities.
Installation is straightforward since the RC-208 fits standard 1-gang wall boxes and uses convection ventilation for cooling. The unit ships with a 12V DC power adapter, tweezers for removing button caps and a set of standard button labels. Firmware updates and configuration are supported via Ethernet or the mini USB-B port for system maintenance.
