The PT-871/2XR-KIT is a compact HDMI extender kit that transmits 4K@60Hz HDR video over a single twisted-pair copper link using DGKat 2.0. It pairs a transmitter and receiver that support HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 while providing two-way power over the line. The kit is designed to extend HDMI signals where long reach over shielded cable is required and near-zero latency is critical.
The kit supports HDR10, deep color, x.v.Color, HDMI uncompressed audio channels and multi-channel audio up to 32 channels. It uses low-level compression by default and offers an optional high-compression mode selectable via dip switches. LED status indicators on both units simplify diagnostics and local troubleshooting.
Performance capability includes up to 18 Gbps transmitted bandwidth and native support for 4K60 4:4:4 at high compression settings. Reach is up to 60 m / 200 ft at 4K60 4:4:4 and up to 70 m / 230 ft at 4K60 4:2:0 when using recommended shielded UNIKAT cable. EDID handling is managed by Kramer I-EDIDPro to ensure compatibility between sources and displays.
Connectivity comprises an HDMI input on the transmitter and an HDMI output on the receiver plus RJ-45 DGKat extension ports on both units. The extender passes HDCP 2.2 and supports common HDMI audio formats including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. The compact Pico TOOLS enclosures allow device-back mounting or grouping four units in 1U rack space using the optional RK-4PT adapter.
Typical applications include long-distance AV links in meeting rooms, boardrooms, hotels and corporate facilities where clean 4K60 HDR distribution is needed. The kit is suitable for installations requiring studio-grade multi-channel audio and reliable HDCP compliant extension. It provides a cost-effective alternative to fiber when copper infrastructure is preferred.
Installation is straightforward – a single shielded twisted-pair cable carries video and power between units and dip-switches control compression level. The metal aluminium enclosures use convection ventilation for fan-less operation and the devices include mounting brackets for flexible placement. Kramer supplies a power adapter and bracket sets to support immediate deployment.
