The PT-572+ is a compact twisted-pair HDMI receiver designed to convert a DGKat twisted-pair signal back to a standard HDMI output. It complements a compatible transmitter to restore HDMI video and audio at the display end of a long-run installation. The unit supports common HDMI features and HDCP to maintain protected content integrity.
Key features include support for up to 1.65 Gbps per graphic channel, HDMI 1.4 feature set including 3D pass-through, Deep Color and uncompressed audio channels. The receiver is HDCP compliant and passes EDID and HDCP information between source and sink. An LED status indicator provides quick confirmation of power and link status.
Performance depends on cable type and video resolution. Typical system range is up to 90m (295ft) at 1080i and varies for 1080p depending on the DGKat cable used: up to 30m (98ft) on BC-DGKat524, up to 70m (230ft) on BC-DGKat623, and up to 90m (295ft) on BC-DGKat723. Bandwidth is limited to 1.65Gbps per graphic channel which enables full HDTV formats and 3D pass-through.
Connectivity is simple: a single RJ-45 input accepts the twisted-pair DGKat signal and a single HDMI output feeds the display. EDID pass-through and HDCP handling are supported to simplify source/display negotiation. The unit supports Kramer Power Connect system so a single power connection to either end can power both units when within 90m (270ft).
The PT-572+ is suited to meeting rooms, classrooms, retail signage and light AV distribution where a shielded twisted-pair cabling backbone is already installed. It supports HDMI audio formats including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD and maintains digital video integrity over longer cable runs when used with shielded DGKat cable. The receiver is compact for discreet installation at the display or inside enclosures.
Installation is straightforward and designed for integrators: the pico form factor allows four units to be rack-mounted side-by-side in 1U using the RK-4PT adapter. The unit ships with a 12V DC power supply and includes status LEDs for diagnostics. The PT-572+ replaces the prior PT-572 model and is recommended to be used with shielded DGKat cable for best range and reliability.
