Description
The WP-789T is an HDBaseT wall-plate transmitter designed to extend HDMI signals and control over a single twisted-pair cable. It converts HDMI input into an HDBaseT signal and supports 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) video and HDCP 2.2 pass-through. This unit is powered by PoE to simplify installation and reduce cabling needs.
The transmitter supports HDMI 2.0 features including deep color, x.v.Color, lip sync and multichannel uncompressed audio. It carries up to 10.2 Gbps bandwidth and extends full HD to 70m (230ft) and 4K@60 (4:2:0) to 40m (130ft) over Kramer copper cabling. Control extension includes RS-232 and IR pass-through for integrated device management.
Technical performance includes HDCP 1.4 and 2.2 pass-through, EDID and CEC pass-through and support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio. The unit supports up to 32 audio channels and complies with HDMI 2.0 video formats including 2K, 4K and 3D. Maximum video bandwidth is specified at 10.2 Gbps and the device maintains signal integrity across rated distances.
Connectivity includes an HDMI input, RJ-45 HDBT output, RS-232 terminal blocks and IR terminal blocks for Tx and Rx. The wall-plate fits standard US, EU and UK 1-gang electrical boxes and works with compatible HDBaseT receivers or matrices. PoE auto-sensing allows the WP-789T to accept power from remote PoE sources or an optional local power adapter.
Typical applications include wall- or podium-mounted AV extension in classrooms, boardrooms, hotels and corporate facilities where concealed cabling and local control are required. The unit supports table- or wall-mounted deployments and integrates with room control systems via RS-232 and IR extension. It is suitable for installations requiring long-reach HDMI and centralized powering.
