The PE6216A eco PDU is a 0U rackmount power distribution unit designed to centralize power management for data center and rack-mounted IT equipment. It provides 16 AC outlets in a compact form factor and delivers remote control and monitoring over TCP/IP. The unit targets administrators who need outlet-level control and energy metering to optimize power usage.
Key features include individual outlet control, real-time power measurement, and support for environmental sensors. The PDU reports current, voltage, power and watt-hour values and allows users to power cycle individual outlets. It supports SNMP v1 v2 v3 and integrates with ATEN eco Sensors and eco PDU Manager software.
Electrically the PE6216A accepts a single IEC 320 C20 inlet and distributes power to 14 NEMA 5-15R and 2 NEMA 5-20R outlets. The PDU is rated for 100 to 120 V~, 50 to 60 Hz with a total capacity of 2.4 kW and a UL input rating of 16 A with 20 A maximum. Per-port ratings include NEMA 5-15R/IEC C13 at 12 A / 15 A and NEMA 5-20R/IEC C19 at 16 A / 20 A.
Connectivity options include a built-in 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port for TCP/IP access and two RJ-11 sensor ports for optional temperature, humidity and differential pressure sensors. Network protocols supported include TCP/IP UDP HTTP HTTPS SSL SMTP DHCP NTP DNS and Ping. The device also exposes SNMP for integration with third-party management platforms.
Typical use cases include remote monitoring and scripted power cycling of servers, safe shutdown and sequencing of storage arrays and network equipment, and environmental monitoring of rack conditions. Outlet-by-outlet access control and event logging help enforce power policies and trace incidents. The PDU also supports wake on LAN and system after AC back controls to manage reboot behavior.
Installation is straightforward in 0U rear mount configurations and the metal housing provides durable rack-grade construction. Front panel LEDs display outlet status current and IP address and the unit supports up to eight user accounts plus one administrator account. Firmware is upgradeable and the unit includes strong password protection 128 bit SSL and RADIUS authentication support to secure remote access.
