The KL1116VN is a 16-port Cat5 KVM over IP switch with an integrated dual-rail 19 inch LED-backlit LCD, keyboard and touchpad. It provides both local console access and remote access over IP, enabling administrators to monitor and manage servers from the switch or via a web browser. The unit also supports out-of-band access via an external modem for BIOS-level troubleshooting when network connectivity is not available.
This KVM over IP switch includes features designed for data center management such as Power Association to link KVM ports to ATEN PDU outlets and support for blade servers and chassis. It supports virtual media for remote mounting of USB mass storage, DVD/CD and ISO images to perform OS installs and diagnostics. The device also integrates with CC2000 centralized management and CCVSR session recording for audit and compliance.
Performance is enabled by an advanced FPGA graphics processor that supports remote video up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz and local LCD resolution of 1280 x 1024 at 75 Hz. The KL1116VN supports multi-platform environments including Windows, Mac, Linux, Sun and VT100 serial devices. Security features include TLS 1.2 encryption, RSA 2048-bit certificates, and support for RADIUS, LDAP, LDAPS and Active Directory authentication.
Connectivity options include 16 RJ-45 KVM ports for Cat5e/6 connections, two Gigabit LAN ports for redundant or dual IP operation, serial ports for console management and a modem port for out-of-band access. The integrated console provides extra console ports for an external monitor plus USB keyboard and mouse. Adapter cables automatically convert PS/2, USB, Sun and serial interfaces to support mixed server fleets.
Typical use cases include remote hands for data center server administration, centralized management of branch office server rooms, and secure remote BIOS-level troubleshooting. The unit is suitable for environments that require recorded session auditing and remote virtual media for OS deployments and updates.
