The KH1508Ai is an 8-port Cat5 KVM over IP switch that provides both local and remote access to connected servers and workstations. It supports simultaneous local console operation and remote management over TCP/IP using a web browser. The unit is rack-mountable in a 1U chassis and designed for centralized server room control.
Key capabilities include 8 RJ-45 Cat5e/6 KVM ports, a dedicated Laptop USB Console port, and support for PS/2, USB, Sun 13W3 and serial connections. Features such as Panel Array Mode, Mouse DynaSync, Adapter ID and message board enable efficient multi-user monitoring and cooperative administration. Up to 32 users can share control simultaneously and administrators can terminate sessions when required.
Video performance supports remote resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 @ 60Hz and local console resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 @ 75Hz when used with KA7xx adapter cables. The switch can be daisy-chained to manage up to 128 computers from a single console and supports BIOS-level access for remote maintenance. Security options include SSL 128-bit encryption, RSA 1024-bit certificates and selectable encryption algorithms.
Connectivity includes 8 RJ-45 KVM ports, 1 RJ-45 LAN port, console ports for USB and PS/2 keyboards and mice, a DB-25 daisy-chain port and a LUC USB Mini-B port for laptop console access. The KH1508Ai is multiplatform compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Sun systems and works through standard web browsers without requiring Java. Integration with ALTUSEN CC2000 management software and Power Over the NET is supported.
Typical applications include remote server management in enterprise data centers, broadcast control rooms and lab environments that require consolidated access and rapid fault resolution. The switch reduces travel and MTTR by enabling remote diagnostics and repair at BIOS level. Panel Array Mode and the message board streamline collaborative troubleshooting across dispersed teams.
Installation is straightforward with a 1U metal chassis and standard IEC power inlet for rack environments. Firmware is upgradeable and event logging integrates with Windows-based log servers for audit trails. The unit operates across a 0 – 40°C range and is engineered for continuous use in professional server environments.
