The KG8900T USB HDMI KVM DigiProcessor is a compact digital endpoint that converts a host computer’s HDMI and USB signals into a secure digital KVM stream for connection to an OmniBus gateway. It enables remote BIOS-level control and live video monitoring of connected systems while minimizing rack footprint. The device is purpose-built to deliver clear video and responsive KVM control over standard Cat5e/6 cable runs.
The DigiProcessor supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz and 24-bit color depth and provides distortion-free dynamic video up to 100 m over Cat5e/6. Virtual Media capability accelerates remote file access and image deployment with read speeds up to 265 Mbps and write speeds up to 188 Mbps. The unit is bus-powered and firmware-upgradable to simplify deployment and maintenance.
Internally the unit uses a dedicated SoC for efficient video compression and low-latency KVM transmission, preserving keyboard-video-mouse synchronization for real-time control. Audio is carried via HDMI digital audio to maintain synchronized AV in remote sessions. The hardware design emphasizes passive cooling through a lightweight aluminum die-cast shroud and integrated fins to support continuous operation.
Connectivity includes a KVM RJ-45 link port, an RJ-45 SP port reserved for future expansion, two USB Type-A host connectors, and one HDMI connector. The DigiProcessor is compatible only with KG0016 and KG0032 OmniBus Gateways and must be connected directly to those gateways without an intervening network switch. LEDs and a reset pushbutton provide local status and troubleshooting feedback.
Typical applications include data center server access, control room monitoring, production line remote console access, and out-of-band management for contingency recovery. The device supports BIOS-level access to protect against OS-level vulnerabilities and to enable recovery or maintenance tasks when the production network is unavailable. Panel Array Mode Live+ and the DigiKVM architecture enable multi-view monitoring and centralized management when used with OmniBus gateways.
Installation is straightforward using the provided SR anti-bending hanger for 0U in-rack mounting or compact desktop placement. The KG8900T is lightweight and bus-powered so no external adapter is required, reducing cable clutter and simplifying rollouts. Built-in firmware upgrade support and secure digital transmission make it a practical component for professional KVM-over-IP deployments.
