The KE8952T is the transmitter component of an IP-based HDMI KVM extender system designed to provide remote keyboard, video, mouse and audio access to a host computer across an intranet. It enables secure remote access over copper or fiber connections and supports precise video reproduction at high resolutions.
The transmitter supports Ultra High Definition video up to 3840 x 2160 at 30Hz and 36-bit color depth, and it complies with HDMI 1.4a and HDCP 1.4. The unit supports interlaced formats including 1080i and standard HDMI resolutions from 640 x 480 up to 3840 x 2160 @ 30Hz. Power over Ethernet (PoE) is supported so power can be delivered via a compatible PoE switch, reducing cabling and simplifying deployment.
KE8952T provides enterprise-grade protection and reliability including built-in 8KV/15KV ESD protection and 1KV surge protection. The fanless metal housing offers silent operation and durable build quality while consuming DC 5V/7.22W. Firmware is upgradeable to keep the unit current with security and feature updates provided by ATEN.
For connectivity the transmitter exposes HDMI, USB, stereo audio jacks, RS-232 and both an RJ-45 Gigabit port and an SFP slot for fiber modules. It integrates with ATEN KE Matrix Management Software (CCKM) for device discovery, credentialed access, video grouping and scheduling when used as part of a managed matrix. EDID Expert and Auto-MDIX further improve compatibility and link reliability.
The KE8952T is suited to control room installations, broadcast facilities, studio environments and remote server access where secure high-resolution video and peripheral redirection are required. It supports AES encrypted data transmission and external authentication options including LDAP, Active Directory and RADIUS when used in managed deployments. Its dual-console capability and RS-232 terminal support enable flexible control scenarios.
Installation is straightforward – mountable in racks using ATEN mounting kits or deployed as a standalone desktop unit. The transmitter is hot-pluggable and supports standard network topologies including point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and multipoint-to-multipoint. The robust metal housing and enterprise feature set make KE8952T a durable choice for integrated AV and IT environments.
