The KE8900SR is the receiver unit of the slim KE8900S HDMI KVM over IP Extender family and provides remote access to a single HDMI display and USB console. It pairs with a KE8900ST transmitter or any compatible KE Series transmitter to extend keyboard, mouse, video and USB over an intranet. The receiver is designed to let systems reside in secure or controlled environments while users operate from a separated workstation.
The receiver delivers lossless low-latency video up to 1920 x 1200 at 60Hz and supports 24-bit color depth and HDMI 1.4a with HDCP 1.4. It supports Virtual Media for USB file transfers and ISO mounting, and includes RS-232 serial control for connected peripherals. AES encryption and TLS secure video, keyboard, mouse and USB data streams and external authentication via LDAP/AD/RADIUS adds connection security.
Performance features include adjustable video compression levels to balance bandwidth and quality, fast switching modes and boundless switching to move the cursor across displays. The device supports on-screen preview of multiple displays and EDID Expert to manage EDID for reliable power-up and optimal display quality. It also supports video wall layouts and Tx grouping when managed by KE Matrix Management Software (CCKM).
Connectivity on the receiver includes one HDMI monitor output, USB Virtual Media support over USB 2.0, a Gigabit Ethernet port and RS-232 serial ports for CLI or serial devices. The unit supports Auto-MDIX and a dedicated LAN port for direct KE connections that can be isolated from the corporate network. The receiver is compatible with all KE Series devices and integrates with KE Matrix Management Software for matrix and multipoint deployments.
This receiver is suited to control rooms, broadcast environments, monitoring stations and secure IT environments where remote access to a single display and USB devices is required. It allows administrators to centralize computers while operators work at remote consoles with no perceptible video latency. Use cases include remote system administration, content pushing and virtual media operations like OS installs or diagnostics.
The KE8900SR features a slim, fanless design for silent operation and energy efficiency, and offers rack or wall mounting options including support for the VE-RMK 1U Extender Rack Mount Kit. Local configuration is available via the receiver OSD while administrators can also manage devices using RS-232, Telnet or the KE Matrix Management Software. Built-in ESD and surge protection help safeguard connected equipment in professional installations.
