The IPMX-E40F-IRW3 is a 4MP QHD Starlight IP eyeball dome camera designed for indoor and outdoor surveillance. It combines a sensitive low-light image sensor and SmartIR illumination to capture color video in very low light and clear grayscale images at night. The camera also includes a built-in microphone and advanced AI metadata streaming for enhanced detection workflows.
The camera features IC Realtime iMD 2.0 Intelligent Motion Detection and AI Scene Self-Adaptation to automatically optimize image parameters frame-by-frame. It supports three independently configurable streams and scene-adaptive H.264/H.265 compression to balance bandwidth and storage. SmartIR LEDs deliver up to 164ft of illumination for reliable night coverage.
Technical performance includes a 1/3″ CMOS sensor, 2688 x 1520 resolution, 102H x 54V field of view from a fixed 2.8mm lens, and 120dB WDR for balanced exposure in challenging lighting. Minimum illumination specifications reach 0.005 lux in color and 0.0005 lux in B/W with illuminator off. The camera accepts PoE (802.3af) or 12VDC power and supports up to 256GB microSD for local storage or ANR buffering.
Connectivity and interoperability include RJ-45 10/100Base-T, ONVIF Profile S/G/T, CGI, P2P, and broad protocol support such as RTSP, RTP, HTTP/HTTPS, IPv4/v6 and more. The camera is VMS compatible and integrates with IC Realtime AI NVRs for object metadata search across channels. Web and mobile access are supported via common browsers and iOS/Android apps.
Common applications include perimeter and entrance monitoring, low-light parking and loading areas, and general-purpose exterior or interior surveillance where discreet eyeball form factor is preferred. The built-in microphone can be used for audio-triggered alerts as part of intrusion detection workflows. Its compact size and sealed cam ball make it suitable for porch, soffit, and wall mount installations.
Installation is streamlined with screwdriver-fit junction box options, a porchlight-style wall mount and a removable base adapter plate. The housing is IP67 rated and operates from -40°C to +60°C for reliable outdoor use. The E40F is backed by IC Realtime’s 10 Year Limited Warranty for long-term dependability.
