The IPMX-E40F-IRB3 is a 4MP QHD Starlight eyeball dome camera designed for indoor and outdoor surveillance – it delivers high-detail video and continuous monitoring in low light conditions. This camera integrates ICRealtime iMD 2.0 AI metadata detection to embed object data frame-by-frame for accelerated object search. It supports PoE and 12VDC power and offers local microSD recording for redundant capture.
Key features include a Starlight sensor for color at very low lux levels, 164 ft SmartIR night illumination, built-in microphone for audio triggers, and three configurable video streams. The camera uses scene self-adaptation and 120 dB WDR to manage backlight, glare, and variable weather conditions. iMD 2.0 streams metadata alongside video to enable multi-channel object search on compatible ICRealtime AI NVRs.
On the technical side the camera uses a 1/3 inch CMOS sensor at 2688 x 1520 pixels and supports H.265 and H.264 compression with CBR or VBR bit rate control. It offers multiple resolutions and main stream frame rates up to 25/30 fps at 4M QHD and includes 3D DNR, privacy masking, and multiple white balance modes. Power consumption ranges from 3.3 W to a maximum of 7.9 W depending on features in use.
Connectivity is broad and standards-based – the camera uses a 10/100Base-T RJ-45 ethernet port and supports ONVIF Profile S G T, CGI, P2P and common network protocols such as RTSP, RTP, HTTPs, DHCP and IPv4/v6. It provides edge storage via NAS, SFTP or microSD up to 256 GB and interoperates with most VMS systems. Management is available through SmartICRSS, DSS and mobile apps for iOS and Android.
Typical use cases include perimeter surveillance for commercial properties, entry and gate monitoring for multi-tenant sites, and interior monitoring where low-light color detail and audio detection are required. The embedded AI metadata stream accelerates forensic searches across multiple iMD 2.0 cameras when paired with compatible ICRealtime AI NVRs. Installation is simplified by a compact eyeball design, optional matching junction boxes and mount accessories, and dual power options (PoE or 12 VDC).
