The Gefen GF-HDK18G-VIP-RX is a 4K HDMI KVM over IP receiver designed to extend HDMI video, audio, control and USB signals across a standard Gigabit LAN. It receives streams from a compatible sender and delivers up to 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 video to a local display. The unit supports HDR formats and an audio return path to preserve source fidelity.
This receiver supports HDMI video up to 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 with HDR10 HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. It carries stereo analog audio and optical audio return while providing two USB 2.0 Type A ports for keyboard mouse and peripheral connectivity. The unit also passes RS-232 and IR control for remote device management.
Performance is optimized for professional AV networks – the receiver uses dual Gigabit RJ-45 ports and requires a managed switch with Jumbo Frame support and IGMP Snooping. The system supports Power over Ethernet IEEE 802.3at so the receiver can be powered from a PoE+ switch. Cable runs between the receiver and the network switch are supported up to 330 ft (100 meters) using shielded CAT-5e or better.
Connectivity options include a locking HDMI Type A output a 3.5mm line out jack TOSLINK optical audio input IR in/out jacks and a DB-9 RS-232 port. The two USB 2.0 Type A ports deliver KVM functionality with USB roaming and OSD hotkey switching. Independent routing of video audio control and USB allows any receiver to connect to any sender on the network to create a virtual matrix.
The GF-HDK18G-VIP-RX is suitable for remote workstations digital signage and large AV deployments that require centralized source distribution and local control. It supports video wall configurations and bezel compensation for tiled displays up to 16×16. The receiver is engineered to integrate into existing IP infrastructure and professional AV environments.
Installation is straightforward – configure channel IDs on sender and receiver units connect over a managed Gigabit switch and the receiver will present the selected source at the display. The unit is compact and includes both PoE support and an optional 12V DC power input for flexible deployment. Firmware updates and network management are supported to maintain compatibility and performance over time.
