Description
The FC-28 is an IP-enabled control interface that converts Ethernet signals to serial, IR, GPI/O and relay control. It provides bidirectional RS-232 connectivity, four IR emitter outputs, GPI/O ports and relay contacts for device control. The unit is designed for networked AV environments that require centralized control over a mix of legacy and modern devices.
The FC-28 supports two RS-232 serial ports, four IR emitters plus an IR learning sensor, two GPI/O ports and two relay outputs. It allows up to 40 simultaneous PC client connections for concurrent control sessions. A USB service port enables firmware updates and on-site maintenance.
Serial communications are transparent up to 115200bps and the device supports standard baud rates including 1200 through 57600 and 15200bps. IR input and output support wide frequency ranges to accommodate common IR protocols, and IR emitter cable runs support long distances. The device can handle up to 150kbps aggregated data throughput across all ports.
Connectivity includes 2 RS-232 on 3-pin terminal blocks, an RJ-45 Ethernet port, a mini USB programming port and 4 IR outputs on 2-pin terminal blocks plus a built-in IR sensor. The FC-28 offers web-based configuration compatible with mainstream browsers on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS platforms. Rack mounting is available using an optional adapter for standardized installations.
Typical applications include AV control rooms, boardrooms, classrooms and digital signage where mixed-control interfaces are required. The FC-28 is suitable for bridging networked control systems to legacy RS-232 devices, IR-controlled equipment and simple relay/GPI automation. It is well suited to integrators deploying centralized third-party control systems or custom automation scripts.
The unit is compact and housed in an aluminium enclosure that uses convection cooling for silent operation. It runs from a 5V DC power adapter and meets CE safety and RoHS/WEEE environmental requirements. Installation is straightforward via the web interface, terminal block wiring and optional rack adapter for 1U side-by-side mounting.
