The EXT3-XR-TR is an HDBaseT 3.0 HDMI extender that transmits 4K60 4:4:4 video along with USB 2.0, Ethernet, RS-232 and IR over a single twisted-pair cable. It operates as either a transmitter-side or receiver-side unit and converts signals to and from the HDBaseT link. The unit supports distances up to 100m over recommended CAT copper cabling.
This extender passes HDCP 2.3, EDID and CEC and supports HDMI 2.0 features including HDR10, deep color and multichannel uncompressed audio. USB 2.0 extension enables connection of cameras, audio devices and HID devices while the integrated Ethernet channel offers up to 1 Gbps network extension. Bidirectional RS-232 and IR control channels enable remote device management and control at either end of the link.
Performance specifications include 18 Gbps HDMI bandwidth, support for 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 24bpp, and up to 32 channels of digital audio. USB data rates reach up to 480 Mbps with a transmitted data bandwidth of up to 300 Mbps. The extension line supports up to 100m (330ft) at 4K60 and 1080p60 when using recommended Kramer HDBaseT cables.
Connectivity options include HDMI loop output on the transmitter side for a local monitor, USB-B host and three USB-A device ports, a 1000BaseT RJ-45 LAN pass-through, a 3.5mm IR jack and a 3-pin terminal block for RS-232. The enclosure is a fan-less MegaTOOLS aluminum chassis designed for ceiling or 1U rack installation with the recommended bracket. Status LEDs for HDMI, Loop, HDBT and USB host simplify local troubleshooting.
Typical applications include conference rooms, boardrooms and training facilities where AV, Ethernet and USB need to be extended over structured cabling. The extender supports hybrid meeting and learning setups by retaining full HDMI 2.0 feature set and extending USB for cameras and HID devices. It is suitable for installations requiring studio-grade audio channels and reliable control connectivity.
Installation is straightforward with convection cooling and rack or ceiling mounting options using the included accessories. The unit is powered by a 12V DC, 5A supply and provides 2A total USB charging current.
