The EXT3-TR is an HDBaseT 3.0 HDMI extender designed to transmit high-resolution AV signals and control data over a single twisted-pair copper cable. It extends HDMI video up to 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 alongside USB 2.0, RS-232 and IR control. The unit can be set as either a transmitter-side or receiver-side device to suit different installation needs.
The EXT3-TR supports HDMI 2.0 features including HDR10, deep color and HDCP 2.3 while preserving EDID and CEC pass-through. It also provides an HDMI loop output on the transmitter side for local monitoring or daisy-chaining. USB 2.0 extension supports camera and audio devices or HID keyboards and mice with an active host connected at either end.
Performance highlights include an 18 Gbps video data rate and support for 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 24bpp video. The extender carries up to 32 channels of uncompressed digital audio for studio-grade surround formats. Over recommended Kramer HDBaseT cabling the product extends 4K@60Hz up to 40m and lower resolutions to 70m, with USB throughput designed up to 480Mbps and a transmitted bandwidth of up to 300Mbps.
Connectivity is comprehensive with HDMI input and loop, HDBT input and output on RJ-45, one USB-B host port and three USB-A device ports, plus RS-232 terminal and a 3.5mm IR jack. HDMI mirroring, EDID management and CEC pass-through maintain source-display interoperability. Status LEDs for HDMI, Loop, HDBT and USB host simplify local diagnostics and maintenance.
The EXT3-TR is suitable for conference rooms, lecture halls and training facilities where long-reach AV and control extension is required. It supports hybrid meeting and learning workflows by enabling remote cameras, audio devices and HID peripherals alongside high-resolution video. The unit is compatible with any HDBaseT-compliant extender products for flexible system design.
Installation is straightforward with a fanless MegaTOOLS enclosure that supports dropped-ceiling mounting or side-by-side 1U rack mounting with an adapter. The unit is powered by a 12V DC 2A supply and operates in common AV environment ranges.
