Description
The EXT3-C-XR-T is an HDBaseT 3.0 transmitter designed to extend HDMI, USB, Ethernet, RS-232 and IR signals over twisted-pair copper cabling. It accepts a single USB-C DP Alt Mode source and converts video and data for transmission to a remote receiver up to 100m (330ft). The unit supports uncompressed 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 video and HDCP 2.3 to preserve source content integrity.
The transmitter provides USB 2.0 extension, full gigabit Ethernet pass-through and bidirectional RS-232 and IR for device control. It supports USB-C Power Delivery up to 60W for charging DP Alt Mode host devices and includes a mirrored HDMI loop output for a local monitor. Video features include HDR10 support, deep color, and multi-channel uncompressed audio up to 32 channels.
Performance specifications include an 18Gbps video data rate (6Gbps per graphic channel) and 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 24bpp color depth. USB extension supports up to 480Mbps data rate and a transmitted data bandwidth of up to 300Mbps. The extender complies with HDBaseT 3.0 standards and extends 1 Gbps Ethernet between ends.
Connectivity options cover a USB-C input, HDMI loop output, HDBT RJ-45 output, two USB 2.0 Type-A device ports, a 1000BaseT Ethernet RJ-45 port, a 3.5mm IR jack and a 3-pin RS-232 terminal block. The unit also offers power adapter input and PoE capabilities for flexible deployment. I-EDIDPro intelligent EDID processing ensures correct handshake between source and display.
Typical applications include conference rooms, boardrooms, classrooms and training facilities where long-reach AV, network and USB connectivity are required. The transmitter supports BYOD workflows by enabling users to plug in USB-C laptops and maintain network access and device charging. The mirrored HDMI loop supports a local confidence monitor or daisy-chaining to additional units.
Installation is simplified by the MegaTOOLS fan-less enclosure that allows dropped-ceiling mounting or side-by-side 1U rack mounting with an adapter. Status LEDs provide quick troubleshooting of HDMI, Loop, HDBT and USB host ports. The aluminum enclosure and convection cooling deliver reliable operation within the specified environmental ranges.
