The EX-70-G2 is a compact HDBaseT extender set designed to deliver 4K UHD video and high-definition audio over a single Cat5e cable. It transmits 4K and 1080p sources up to 35m/115ft and supports HDCP 2.2 encrypted content. The set includes bi-directional control pass-through to maintain seamless device control between source and display.
Key capabilities include HDBaseT Class B video encoding, a 9.2Gbps encoding data rate and end-to-end latency of approximately 10 microseconds. The EX-70-G2 supports 2ch PCM and multichannel audio formats up to Dolby Atmos and DTS-X. Two-way Power over HDBaseT (PoH) enables powering from either TX or RX for flexible installation options.
Performance specifications support 1920x1080p@60Hz 16-bit, 3840x2160p@30Hz 8-bit 4:4:4, 3840x2160p@60Hz 8-bit 4:2:0 and 4096x2160p@60Hz 8-bit 4:2:0 resolutions. Maximum pixel clock is HDMI 300MHz and HDBaseT 297MHz, ensuring consistent signal fidelity for both RGB and DCI standards. The unit extends 1080p up to 70m/230ft and maintains HDCP 2.2 compliance for protected content.
Connectivity includes HDMI input/output, HDBaseT RJ-45 links, 3.5mm IR TX/RX jacks and an RS-232 Phoenix connector (v2 chassis). EDID pass-through and CEC pass-through are supported to simplify source/display handshakes. Visual LED indicators report power, link status and HDCP presence for rapid troubleshooting.
Typical applications include digital signage, conference rooms, classrooms and broadcast flats where reliable 4K transport and remote control are required. The EX-70-G2 is suitable for source-to-display extension, local AV distribution and rack-to-wall installations. Its CEC/IR/RS-232 pass-through enables centralized control and remote device management in integrated systems.
Installation is straightforward thanks to the ultra-slim 15mm housings, included mounting brackets and a threaded DC socket for secure power connections. The 2-way PoH option reduces cable runs by allowing the unit to be powered from either endpoint.
