The EX-35-8K is an HDBaseT HDMI 2.1 extender pair designed to transmit high-bandwidth video and control signals over a single Cat cable. It supports 8K and high-refresh 4K formats while preserving HDCP 2.3 compliance and modern audio formats. The product is intended for professional residential and commercial AV installations that require long-distance HDMI connectivity with integrated control and audio extraction.
The extender transmits up to 8K@30Hz or 8K@60Hz 4:2:0 and supports 4K@120Hz 4:4:4 over compatible cables, delivering a 40Gbps HDMI data rate. It includes bi-directional PoH for single-supply powering of the link and provides RS-232 and bi-directional IR pass-through for full device control. The receiver offers a balanced de-embedded audio output for integration with pro audio systems.
Performance specifications include HDMI 2.1 signaling, HDCP 2.3 support and multi-channel audio up to PCM 7.1 and major Dolby/DTS codecs. Transmission distances vary by cable type – Cat5e/6 supports up to 35m for high-bandwidth video while Cat6a/7 extends that range to 40m. The system preserves common VESA and HDTV resolutions with specific handling for 8K at higher frame rates using YCbCr 4:2:0 where required.
Connectivity is provided via standard HDMI inputs/outputs plus a single Cat link for HDBaseT extension. Control interfaces include RS-232 (up to 115200 bps) and bi-directional IR pass-through for remote control systems. The receiver includes a balanced audio output using a 5-pin phoenix terminal for de-embedded two-channel audio.
Typical applications include residential media rooms, corporate boardrooms, digital signage and education environments that require centralized source control and long cable runs. The EX-35-8K supports integration with control systems and AV racks while enabling local audio extraction for zone audio.
