Description
The DIP-20 is an HDBaseT transmitter designed to send HDMI and computer graphics video, embedded audio, Ethernet and serial data over a single twisted-pair cable. It accepts HDMI and VGA inputs plus an unbalanced stereo audio input and transmits all signals to a compatible HDBaseT receiver. The unit supports PoE to power compatible remote receivers and is built in a compact MegaTOOLS enclosure.
Key features include 4K ultra HD support, a maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps, HDCP repeater compatibility and automatic live input detection. The device embeds analog stereo audio into the HDMI stream and supports digital audio formats and local audio de-embedding. I-EDIDPro intelligent EDID processing simplifies EDID management and ensures reliable plug-and-play operation.
Performance specifications include data equalization and reclocking for signal integrity and a maximum transmission distance up to 180m for 1080p in extended mode and up to 130m in normal mode. The DIP-20 supports Deep Color, x.v.Color and 3D and operates within a 0 to 40C temperature range. Power is supplied as 48V DC at 630mA and the unit consumes power to provide PoE to supported receivers.
Connectivity is comprehensive: two HDMI inputs, one VGA input on a 15-pin connector, stereo audio in/out on 3.5mm jacks, an Ethernet RJ-45 port, RS-232 terminal block control and data ports and a mini USB port. The HDBaseT output uses a standard RJ-45 connector for single-cable distribution to a compatible receiver. The unit supports standard web browsers for management and remote control and is HDBT certified.
Typical applications include presentation systems, lecture halls and boardrooms where a single-cable return for audio, video, control and Ethernet simplifies installation. The DIP-20 is suitable for AV closets and patching systems where HDMI sources and legacy VGA sources must be transmitted together. It is also appropriate for installations requiring PoE to power remote receivers and devices.
Installation is straightforward using the MegaTOOLS compact form-factor and optional rack adapter for 1U mounting two units side-by-side. Local step-in switching and contact-closure control simplify live source selection and system operation. The aluminum enclosure and convection cooling provide reliable operation in controlled AV environments.
