The CS1924M is a 4-port DisplayPort KVM switch that integrates an MST hub to deliver dual-display capability from a single DisplayPort 1.2 source. It enables control of up to four computers using one USB keyboard and mouse while supporting two console displays for expanded desktop workflows. This design reduces cabling and simplifies multi-system management in desktop and broadcast environments.
The unit supports MST Mode, Splitter Mode and Single Port Mode to accommodate extended desktop or mirrored display needs. A built-in USB 3.1 Gen 1 hub provides SuperSpeed data transfers up to 5 Gbps enabling fast peripheral performance. Independent switching allows KVM focus to be on one computer while USB hub or audio focus can remain on another computer.
Video performance includes DisplayPort 1.2 compliance and support for 4K UHD 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz and 4K DCI 4096 x 2160 @ 60 Hz. HD audio can be transmitted through DisplayPort and the switch supports full bass response for 2.1 channel systems. The device is HDCP compliant and supports DP++ for HDMI and DVI signals via appropriate adapters.
Connectivity includes dual console outputs (DisplayPort and HDMI), four DisplayPort computer ports, two USB Type-A console ports, two USB3.1 Gen1 hub ports, front and rear 3.5mm audio jacks, and RS-232 control. The CS1924M supports Windows, Mac and Linux platforms and offers keyboard/mouse emulation and bypass modes that support gaming keyboards and multifunction mice. DisplayPort Dual-Mode adapters are supported for HDMI/DVI compatibility.
Typical applications include multi-system control rooms, post-production suites, animation and video editing workstations, and advanced workstation gaming set-ups that require dual-display workflows. The MST hub reduces the need for multiple video outputs on the source system while enabling multitasking across two screens. Auto-scan, power-on detection and hot-plug capability streamline monitoring and maintenance tasks.
Installation is straightforward with front-panel pushbuttons, hotkeys, mouse switching under emulation mode and RS-232 command support for automation. The unit is firmware upgradeable and hot pluggable so systems can be added or removed without downtime. The chassis uses metal and plastic construction and includes LED indicators and a compact footprint for desktop or rack-adjacent placement.
