The CS1792 is a 2-port HDMI USB 2.0 KVMP switcher designed to let a single USB console control two HDMI-interface computers or HDMI devices. It integrates a 2-port USB 2.0 hub so users can share peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and storage between systems. The unit targets desktop multimedia and SOHO environments where space saving and streamlined switching are required.
Key features include independent switching of KVM, USB peripheral, and audio focus using front panel pushbuttons and keyboard hotkeys. Video DynaSync stores the console monitor EDID to optimize display resolution and eliminate EDID conflicts when switching. The CS1792 is HDCP compliant and supports digital audio formats including Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio.
Resolution support includes standard-definition and HDTV formats such as 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p and DVI resolutions up to 1920 x 1200. The unit provides power-on detection so it will automatically switch to the next powered-on computer if one system is off. Scan interval is adjustable between 1 and 99 seconds and power consumption is DC 5.3 V at 3.2 W.
Connectivity includes a rear USB Type A console port, an HDMI Type A console port, stereo audio jacks on front and rear, two USB Type B KVM ports, two HDMI KVM ports and two USB 2.0 hub ports. A 4-conductor 3.5mm jack is provided for firmware upgrade and a DC jack is used for power. The device supports Windows, Linux, and Mac platforms and offers mouse port emulation/bypass to work with most mouse drivers and multifunction mice.
Typical use cases include small office desktop consolidation, home multimedia setups where a single console controls two PCs or a PC and console, and SOHO production workstations that require shared USB peripherals and HDMI switching. It is also suitable for environments that require high-definition audio passthrough and consistent display resolution management. The integrated USB hub and independent audio switching simplify peripheral sharing without manual cable changes.
Installation is straightforward with front-panel pushbuttons, keyboard hotkeys, and an optional auto scan mode for system monitoring.
