The CS17916 is a 16-port USB HDMI KVM switcher that consolidates control of multiple HDMI-equipped computers to a single USB keyboard, USB mouse, and HDMI monitor – it is designed to simplify multi-system access in AV, broadcast, and IT environments. The unit supports cascading to expand control capacity and offers multi-display stacking for installations where each host may present multiple video outputs. The switcher provides audio support and a built-in USB 2.0 hub for peripheral sharing.
Key features include on-screen display (OSD) computer selection, front-panel pushbuttons, and hotkey switching – administrators can back up and restore OSD settings for repeatable configurations. The CS17916 supports ATEN Video DynaSync to maintain optimal resolution and eliminate boot-up display issues when switching ports. Firmware upgradeability and HDCP compatibility are included to keep the unit current with system requirements.
Performance-wise the switcher supports video resolutions up to 1080p / 1920 x 1200@60Hz and widescreen formats – this ensures accurate monitoring across standard HD and UXGA workflows. Scan interval and auto-scan modes provide continuous monitoring options and selectable scan timing from 1 to 255 seconds.
Connectivity is comprehensive – the console presents HDMI video and USB Type A keyboard/mouse connectors while each host is connected via HDMI and USB Type B KVM ports plus a dedicated audio jack. A two-port USB 2.0 hub on the unit allows sharing of additional USB devices between computers. The CS17916 supports Windows, Linux, Mac, and Sun platforms and includes Mac/Sun keyboard emulation where applicable.
