The CS1782A is a 2-port KVMP switcher that consolidates keyboard, video, mouse, USB hub and multi-channel audio control into a single console. It enables a single USB DVI console to manage two computers while providing a built-in 2-port USB 2.0 hub and 7.1 channel audio support. The unit supports DVI single and dual link resolutions and includes Video DynaSync – optimizing displays during port switching.
Key features include DVI Dual Link support up to 2560 x 1600, a USB 2.0 hub for shared peripherals, and full 7.1 channel audio pass-through. The switcher supports nVidia 3D Vision 120Hz operation and HDCP compatibility to preserve protected content. Independent KVM, USB and audio switching provide flexible control of peripheral focus.
Performance characteristics include DVI Dual Link at 2560 x 1600 and DVI Single Link at 1920 x 1200, USB 2.0 hub compliance, and full bass response for surround sound systems. Video DynaSync minimizes display reconfiguration during switching and the device supports automatic power-on detection to switch to active computers. Power consumption is DC 5.3V at 9 W ensuring modest electrical load.
Connectivity covers a DVI-I console port, dual USB Type A console ports, dual USB Type B KVM ports, and multiple mini stereo jacks for 7.1 audio channels. The built-in USB hub provides two additional USB Type A ports (front and rear) for shared devices. Platform compatibility includes Windows, Linux, Mac and Sun systems with keyboard and mouse emulation for reliable booting.
Common applications include IT administration for dual-system desks, multimedia production workstations requiring shared peripherals and audio, and gaming setups that need DVI Dual Link and 3D Vision support. The switcher supports hotkey, front-panel pushbutton and mouse-based port selection for rapid context switching. Auto-scan mode allows continuous monitoring of connected systems.
