The CS1768 is an 8-port USB DVI/Audio KVM switch designed to consolidate control of multiple computers from a single USB keyboard, USB mouse, and dual-display console. It supports both DVI-I and VGA video inputs and provides audio I/O for each connected system. The unit enables cascade expansion and multiview stacking to scale multi-computer installations.
Key features include 8-port Single Link DVI or VGA switching, a built-in 2-port USB 2.0 hub, multilingual on-screen display (OSD) and two-level user authorization. The switch supports cascade to control up to 512 computers and Multiview mode to stack up to four units for dual/triple/quad display layouts. OSD backup and restore, broadcast mode and Auto Scan are provided for centralized management.
Video performance supports Single Link DVI up to 1920 x 1200 and VGA up to 2048 x 1536, DDC2B and HDCP compatibility. Video DynaSync optimizes EDID handling to eliminate boot-up display issues and preserve resolution when switching. Scan interval and firmware upgrade options are configurable to tune monitoring and maintenance workflows.
Connectivity includes 2 x USB Type A console ports, DVI-I and HDB-15 monitor ports at the console, 8 x USB Type B and 8 x DVI-I KVM ports, plus microphone and speaker jacks. Front-panel console audio ports and a front USB hub port provide easy access for peripherals. The unit is fully USB 2.0 compliant and supports Windows, Linux, Mac and Sun platforms.
Typical applications include server rooms, control rooms and multimedia workstations where centralized keyboard/mouse/display/audio control is required.
