The CS1764A is a 4-port USB DVI KVM switcher that consolidates control of four DVI-equipped computers to a single USB keyboard, USB mouse, and DVI monitor console. It integrates a 2-port USB 2.0 hub to share additional peripherals on a one-computer-at-a-time basis. The unit provides DVI-I digital and analog monitor support and is HDCP compliant for secure digital video.
Key features include ATEN Video DynaSync technology which stores EDID for optimized display resolutions, power-on detection that auto-selects the next active computer, and independent switching of KVM, USB, and audio focus. The CS1764A supports full USB 2.0 throughput for attached devices and offers console mouse port emulation/bypass to support most mouse drivers and multifunction mice. Audio support delivers full bass response suitable for 2.1 channel setups.
Performance is engineered for professional AV workflows with support for 1920 x 1200 at 60Hz and DDC2B compatibility. The switch consumes DC5.3V at 10.7W and supports scan intervals configurable from 1 to 99 seconds. Firmware is user-upgradable via USB to maintain compatibility and feature parity over time.
Connectivity covers 2 x USB Type A console ports, 1 x DVI-I console port, front and rear audio jacks, 4 x USB Type B KVM ports, 4 x DVI-I KVM ports, and line-level audio jacks per computer. Multiplatform support includes Windows, Linux, Mac, and Sun, and Sun/Mac keyboard emulation is supported via PC keyboard combinations. HDCP compliance and DVI specifications are fully observed for both digital and analog signals.
